Brainware Appoints Blaine Owens as Regional Vice President of Sales
Thursday 10. July 2008 - Former EMC Captiva Executive to Join Sales Management Team
Brainware, Inc., the leading provider of intelligent data capture and enterprise search solutions, today announced the appointment of industry veteran Blaine Owens to Vice President of Western Region Sales for the United States. Owens will use his 18 years of sales and business development experience to lead his sales team as they respond to increased demand for Brainware’s automated document processing and data retrieval technology.
Owens spent seven years driving enterprise sales for document capture and processing solutions with Captiva Software, which was acquired by EMC Corporation in 2005. As Captiva’s Vice President of Sales and then Vice President of Enterprise Solutions, he orchestrated sales and business development strategies for Fortune 1000 companies, and in one five-year period, grew sales by nearly 300%. Owens has also held senior sales, business development and marketing positions in related markets with document management vendor Astria Solutions Group and Banc Tec Inc, a leader in document and content processing, payment processing and IT services.
“We are delighted to have a seasoned executive who understands the needs of our target market in Blaine Owens,” said Carl Mergele, Brainware CEO. “Blaine has proven to be an accomplished business leader with a proven track record of sales growth, and we are confident that his success will continue at Brainware.”
“All organizations today are faced with the challenge of lowering operating costs while increasing efficiencies and overall productivity, and this can be done almost immediately by automating the data extraction process from paper and electronic documents,” said Owens. “Brainware’s template-free approach to data capture represents a unique way to speed the processing of invoices, customer orders or any other kind of document. I am excited to join such a fast-growing company, and look forward to increasing Brainware’s footprint in the United States.”
