IPA Sustainability Webinar Series Speakers Announced

Wednesday 09. July 2008 - —IPA, The Association of Graphic Solutions Providers announced its new webinar series, Environmental Sustainability in the Premedia Arena. Developed by graphic communications providers and industry leaders, this six-part series will focus on not only on greening the creative, premedia and print operation, but also will highlight how graphic solutions providers can help their clients make sustainable choices. The webinar series begins on July 16.

This special webinar series will examine best practices, ask questions of the experts to help graphic solutions providers set a path to sustainability, and analyze how other premedia companies are adjusting their sales strategies to meet clients’ demands.

This series will be moderated by Trish Wales, Roloc coloR. Each webinar session will feature speakers as well as a case study. Case studies will be presented by: Jim Sewell, account executive, Anderson Litho, on the Value of Your Sustainability Knowledge to Your Clients; Tim Rose, Vice President Strategic Innovation Initiatives, Schawk, Inc., on Carbon Footprint Reduction Work; Debra Rizzi, partner, Rizco Design, on Business Success with an Environmental Platform; Howie Swerdloff, vice president Production & Prepress Services, Sandy Alexander, on Profitable and Sustainable; and Dinah Davidson, chief sustainability officer of America’s largest production Agency, Graphic Systems Group on Sustainable versus Conventional Design.

In addition to the case study presenters, special guests include: Don Carli, founder of SustainCommWorld; Larry Warter, director of new business development, FujiFilm Graphic Systems America; Gary Pawlacyz, senior vice president sales and marketing, Pictorial Offset; and Archie Beaton, executive director of the Chlorine Free Products Association, the independent, nonprofit association the certifies paper mills for chlorine-free and processed chlorine-free production.

Another highlight will be the focus on the Wal-Mart Scorecard which was developed to help Wal-Mart suppliers in their sustainability effort. Webinar 4 in this series will discuss the scorecard and how companies can apply it to other designs. The session will feature success stories and how to translate them into other offerings.

In conjunction with the new series, IPA is launching its new IPA Sustainability Portal. Utilizing the latest web technology, IPA has created a Sustainability Portal on its website to launch later this month. All webinars will be archived on the Portal for Quick Time viewing, accessible 24/7 to registrants. Additional resources also will be in the IPA Sustainability Portal including IPA Bulletin articles, case studies, a moderated discussion forum, calendar of green events and more. The new portal will be a one-stop sustainability resource for Premedia and the Graphic Communications Industry.
