Using stamping foils to appeal to the senses Holographic design foils Light Line
Tuesday 10. June 2008 - At Drupa 2008, the stamping foil manufacturer Kurz will be presenting a new series of holographic design foils. These stamping foils supplement the "Light Line" product range which contains a multitude of continuous designs with diffractive structures. The new foils provide entirely new and novel designs reflecting current graphics and packaging trends.
One foil, for example, shows a simulation of a textile application. The pattern, comprised of a network structure with a superimposed design, produces the current, highly sought after mesh stocking appearance. A wide variety of ornamental shapes are also in the making. Vibrant floral designs and kaleidoscopic structures, reminiscent of the psychedelic art of the sixties, are also part of this trend.
While these designs exhibit soft, fluid light reflexions, other ornaments exhibit highly distinguishable shapes and sharp contrasts. The wide spectrum of new foil designs ranges from high-resolution images with clear, refractive structures right through to holographic patterns with contour-free, blurred transitions and fascinating depth effects. According to Kurz, visual stimuli, light plays and glitter effects are taking an ever greater role in packaging design. The Light Line product range is Kurz’ answer to the increasing demand in this area.
Identifying design trends – stamping design trends
“Design is very important to us at Kurz, as our foils are fantastic design instruments,” explained Sabrina Durastante, Product Manager for the Light Line product range. She added, “We are always at the cutting edge of design trends and create products that complement these trends perfectly. We want to provide designers with the tools to implement their creative ideas.”
“Using Kurz foils, graphic artists and designers can achieve packaging that reflects current trends and fit into real-world situations. Furthermore, the wide variety of designs and colors provide a real fountain of inspiration for designers and graphic artists,” concluded Durastante.
You can see the new stamping foils at the Kurz booth C46 in hall 3. Find out about current trends from the employees of Kurz’ in-house design department and gather more ideas for your upcoming design projects.
