RISO CONTINUES ITS EXCELLENCE IN SERVING THE PRINTING NEEDS OF THE EDUCATION MARKET

Wednesday 28. May 2008 - Recent RISO study finds 97 percent satisfaction rating among current U.S. school market customers

RISO, Inc., a leading manufacturer of high speed color printers and duplicators, today highlighted results from a U.S. school market customer survey it recently conducted. The survey of 5,000 public K-12 schools that currently utilize RISO printing equipment found a user satisfaction rating of 97 percent. These findings support RISO’s position as a leading provider of printing solutions to the education market with 82 of the 100 largest school districts in the United States now utilizing RISO printers and duplicators.

“We are very pleased to see these results from our customer survey, as it reinforces that RISO truly understands the printing needs of today’s public schools and educational institutions,” said David Murphy, Vice President of Marketing for RISO, Inc. “We understand the commitment that superintendents, principals and teachers have to teaching our youth, and RISO is pleased to support them in this effort.”

As part of RISO’s commitment to the education market, the company established the RISO Educational Foundation in 1984 to contribute to the improvement of the quality of public education. As school systems face tighter budgets and pressures to be more environmentally friendly, RISO’s various printing products will also help by conserving energy, reducing waste, and utilizing environmentally-friendly inks. For instance, RISO’s digital duplicators, which recently earned ENERGY STAR status for their low energy use, eliminate the extreme heat of toner-based copiers, use soy ink, and contain no hazardous components. In a study comparing electricity consumption, RISO digital duplicators showed 95 percent cost savings over many toner-based copiers or MFPs.

RISO’s duplicators and printers are also ideal for large copy volumes and offer flexible printing options, which accommodate the needs of today’s education professional. For example, one school district using RISO equipment was able to reduce its copier supplies and maintenance costs by 68 percent in one year. Another district that deployed 96 pieces of RISO equipment throughout its schools was able to save nearly $400,000 per year.

RISO is hosting a special Webinar for the education market. The Webinar entitled “The New 3 R’s—Read, Retain, Reduce: Documents that Work More but Cost Less” will take place on Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at 3:30 pm ET.
