Improvement for the post print industry – Lohmann shows new product range at the drupa
Thursday 22. May 2008 - By their joint efforts the corrugated board industry and the food branch promoted the procedure of post print. Concerning the printing of packages the general tendency is a rapid change of the patterns and a decrease of the packaging items.
Smaller print runs abet the flexographic printing in this branch also, which here takes place on the corrugated board directly. Not least because of this facts the Lohmann Adhesive Tape Group developed a completely new product range for the high-quality post print. This new range will be presented at the drupa, which takes place from 29th of May to 11th of June 2008 in Düsseldorf/Germany. Besides other new products for the flexographic industry, Lohmann´s graphical market segment will focus on the product range DuploFLEX CB (corrugated board). The two versions of DuploFLEX CB meet the needs of the post print industry directly. One version is a single sided adhesive foam tape and the other is a none adhesive product with a foam on one side and a PET-liner on the other side. For both versions the foam can be offered in various thicknesses. The main advantages of the DuploFLEX CB range is the ability to bridge the column and to absorb the print vibrations. This offers many advantages for the high-quality post print industry. Further new products, shown on drupa, are the DuploFLEX HP 5 range and the DuploFLEX 3 and 4 range. The former product is a high performance plate mounting tape range and is suited for very special print jobs. While the latter plate mounting tapes were specially developed for the label printing industry. With its portfolio of plate mounting tapes Lohmann offers a quite unique construction of this products. No other plate mounting tape in the market today can compare with this feature concerning the reinforcement. Conventional compressible plate mounting tapes consist of a reinforced film on one side. In comparison to this the DuploFLEX tapes own a reinforced film on both sides and therefore are able to compensate excessive pressure. In other words, the screen dot is not squeezed and keeps its original size. Last but not least Lohmann joined the new community of interests “flexo4all”. Here, 19 world-wide acting companies of the printing industry are united and will promote the flexographic packaging printing, before, during and after “drupa”.
