MarquipWardUnited Sheeter Group Announces Record Business Levels, Plans To Attend Drupa 2008
Thursday 15. May 2008 - The Sheeter Group of MarquipWardUnited has announced plans to attend Drupa 2008 with much excitement over record levels of order intake and shipments for the companys full range of precision sheeters.
This current level of business comes as a result of a long-term planning exercise to develop and perfect a comprehensive range of paper and board sheeting solutions suitable for mill, converter and folding carton market sectors based on common technology and proven methodology.
Sales for the top-of-the-line SheetPro have been very strong, including the recent sale of a two-machine, highly automated package to a major South American board mill. Orders for sheeting machinery to support heavy duty lamination lines, and for specialist materials, such as single face board, demonstrate the breadth of the MarquipWardUnited sheeter range.
The SheetWizard, introduced in mid-2006, has been a huge success story with orders to date already in the double digits from customers in Europe, Australia, Asia and North America. The SheetWizard will be on display at Drupa in the MarquipWardUnited booth in Hall 10, D74.
The SheetWizard has been developed to offer a flexible configuration. In its base form, the SheetWizard is cost-effective and versatile enough to suit a small converter, folding carton plant or commercial printer. When options such as automatic splicing, continuous running zero reject skid change, automatic setup single or dual-level slitting, and web cleaning are added, the machine can produce the output and quality required for very demanding applications. All of these options are tried and tested, with proven field performance on the SheetPro and SheetRunner.
The SheetWizard also offers an optional extended cut-off length range. The optional minimum length is 11 inches (279 mm) and the optional maximum length is 82 inches (2082 mm). Thanks to a combination of MarquipWardUniteds unique knife drive technology and new innovative sheet delivery systems, excellent productions speeds are possible at both ends of the range.
MarquipWardUnited has always supported customers by providing upgrade and modernization packages for existing sheeters. A new overlapping system that reduces or eliminates snubber wheel marking was developed for the SheetPro and is now available as a retrofit to both MarquipWardUnited and non-MarquipWardUnited sheeters.
Upgrades and retrofits are becoming an important business sector for MarquipWardUnited as they help to build long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with our customers. A very good example is a recent upgrade for Iggesund Paperboard in Sweden, where a 1978 Jagenberg sheeter was upgraded with a new knife, slitting section, sheet outfeed with overlap, and new control system. This upgrade provided enormous improvement in terms of running speeds, reliability, safety and cut quality for a fraction of the cost of a new line.
There is a great deal to talk about, and we hope that our existing and new customers alike will enjoy their visit to our boothand to see a SheetWizard in action.
