Across-the-board progress in the field of injections: including accessories

In China – one of the highest-growth pharma markets in the world – the Gerresheimer Group enjoys an excellent reputa¬tion and has for a number of years been consistently expanding its leading positions as a manufacturer of glass primary packaging. Pharmaceutical and medical practitioners can obtain up-to-the-minute information about its product range for injections at a trade-fair event which is being staged from 12 to 14 May 2008 in the port city of Dalian (Liaoning Province), where API China opens its doors in parallel with Interphex China. The latest generation of prefillable syringe systems and cartridges is likely to attract considerable interest among the high-calibre trade visitors from the region. (Stand C311).

Across-the-board progress in the field of injections: for Gerresheimer this starts with internally produced high-quality type-I glass tubes, continues with state-of-the-art production technologies and takes account of the filling technology of pharma plants and the special characteristics of sensitive biopharmaceutics and the needs of users and patients. The results of this development can be seen in Dalian.

In a joint presentation together with its prestigious Chinese trade partner Guangzhou Huaze, Gerresheimer Bünde exhibits all-glass syringes in every category – including RTF (Ready to Fill) systems which are supplied to pharma manufacturers already pre-assembled, siliconised and sterilised: the top technological class in the syringe market. The numerous different design options – for non-sterile bulk syringes as well – include for example baked-on siliconisation firmly anchored to the syringe wall as well as multicolour printing and laser encoding for clear labelling of the individual syringes. Intelligent accessories complete the range – above all the Rigid Needle Shield with Thermoplasti¬c Elastomer (RNS/TPE), the Tamper Evident Luerlock Closure (TELC), the Backstop and special precision needles. Each one of these means a substantial increase in safety and efficiency in practical use. In the field of cartridges, the range extends to tailor-made products for insulin-pen systems.

In China itself the Gerresheimer Group now has five of its own production plants for a wide variety of pharmaceutical glass packaging and for scientific and diagnostic laboratory equipment. The multi-facetted product spectrum in the local network of manu¬facturing plants includes bottles, jars, vials, ampoules and many other high-quality special products in clear and amber glass. With a wide variety of shapes, glass types I, II and III and additional options for surface treatment and finishing, the Group offers here an excep¬tionally wide range covering practically every field of need to a very high standard. In technological terms as well, the Group with its extremely modern facilities and equipment ranks among the leading suppliers in the Chinese pharma and life-science market. “Our concept for China”, says Burkhard Lingenberg, Director of Marketing and Communication for the Gerresheimer Group, “is based on growth and advanced development.”
