Hagadone Selects DTI Solutions

Friday 09. May 2008 - Newspaper Division purchase will integrate systems for profitability

The Hagadone Corporation has selected Digital Technology International, the leading developer of solutions driving the future of the news media industry, to install DTI’s advertising solutions for their newspaper division. The new installation will achieve Hagadone’s modernization objective, and begin increasing profits immediately.

Hagadone will install more than 100 seats of DTI’s ClassSpeed, AccountSpeed AdSpeed, AdProof, ClassSpeed Web Order Entry, and PlanSpeed products in more than 14 Hagadone properties located Idaho, Montana, Washington, Wisconsin and Hawaii.

“According to our research, the DTI system will help us modernize our operations by allowing us to take advantage of both print and web solutions,” said Brad Hagadone, owner of Hagadone Corporation.  “We consider DTI to be the most innovative and stable software vendors on the market.”

Hagadone needed a centralized, cost effective system that addressed their current situations and future direction. They needed to reduce make-good ads, improve customer service, support new product offerings, and improve workflow and accounting functions.

“Having a centralized advertising system with integrated solutions in one hosted environment will allow Hagadone to cross-sell advertising and increase revenue immediately,” said Dan Paulus, DTI vice president, sales and marketing . “Using DTI software will allow Hagadone to implement a best practices approach to increase the checks and balances system to help eliminate costly ad mistakes their older system and non-centralized databases have not allowed them to accomplish.”

AdSpeed, based on Adobe’s InDesign is seamlessly integrated with ClassSpeed as part of DTI’s unified Advertising system, and standardizes all ad production.  AdSpeed accesses the same database as ClassSpeed so the interaction among all of the advertising departments will be facilitated.

“AdSpeed is essential to standardizing processes across our organization,” said Bill Tunison, director of Hagadone Corporate Information Technology.  “We needed cutting edge technology to help us solve our problems today, but also we wanted to buy a system from a vendor who was visionary and would continue to meet our publishing challenges through tomorrow.”

As an enterprise-wide news division purchase, DTI solutions will allow Hagadone to integrate systems, sell and produce ads for presentation in multiple formats.
