Introduction of New Inkjet Technologies Exhibited at “drupa2008(Dusseldorf, Germany)”

Friday 02. May 2008 - Konica Minolta IJ Technologies, Inc. will be exhibiting at "drupa2008", the world's largest print-related device and material exhibition(29th of May through 11th of June in Dusseldorf) held every four years.

Based on the concept of “More Approachable Inkjet Products Incorporating Environment-Friendly Technology and Performance,” Konica Minolta IJ Technologies, Inc. will be exhibiting the latest inkjet technologies and products for the label printing and commercial printing industries.
The technology to be exhibited for the first time at our stand is a newly-developed inkjet printhead and a fullcolor single-pass technology using this new head. In addition, the Inkjet Print Unit “SP-M0320HR” ideal for high-quality barcode and label printing scheduled to be released next month will also be on display.

1. Demonstration of inkjet printing using full-color single-pass technology – First Time
Outline: Full-color inkjet print unit with newly-developed inkjet printhead mounted.


2. Inkjet Print Unit “SP-M0320HR” – New Release
Outline: Monochrome inkjet print unit offering high resolution and
compact design.

1) Standard resolution of 720dpi.
For precise reproduction of small letters and detailed barcode patterns.
2) Print width of 36mm. Print speed as high as 20m/sec.
3) Equipped with environment-friendly low-odor cationic UV ink(black) for high stability.
4) The inkjet printing method supports various types, and is ideal for small-lot and variable-image printing.

3. Inkjet Print Unit “SP-L2130”
Outline: Monochrome inkjet print unit for A4 size(213mm).

1) High productivity and high quality with a print speed of 30mm/min and standard resolution of 360dpi.
2) Supports print widths up to maximum of 213mm(A4 size).
3) Equipped with environment-friendly low-odor cationic UV ink(black) for high stability.
4) The print unit integrates the printhead and the ink supply unit into one for built-in use on the printing machine.

4. Demonstration of inkjet printing using full-color serial scanning technology – First Time
Outline: Full-color inkjet print unit with high performance KM512 print
head mounted.

5. Inkjet Printheads for Industrial Use: “Newly Developed Printhead”, “KM512” and Others
Outline: Various types of piezo inkjet printheads are exhibited.

Featuring high reliability and high productivity as an inkjet printhead for industrial use, and compatibility with various industrial inks including solvent inks, UV inks and oil inks.
In addition, the high-performance, energy-saving, compact-design inkjet printhead has been developed with the environment in mind.

6. Inkjet Inks: “Inkjet Solvent Ink”, “Inkjet UV Ink”
Outline: Inkjet inks for industrial use offer both environment-friendly features and high quality.

In addition to the features required for inkjet ink for industrial use such as brilliant color, faithful color reproduction and durability; inks are developed with consideration to the environment through extensive safety control of source materials for the ink. The odor commonly associated with industrial ink has been almost completely eradicated, facilitating handling at production sites.
