Thursday 01. May 2008 - Former AOL Executive Further Strengthens MediaBank's Leadership Team
MediaBank, a leading provider of integrated procurement technology and advanced analytics to the advertising industry, today announced that Ted Leonsis, vice chairman emeritus of AOL LLC, has joined its board of directors. With more than a decade of experience in global Internet services and media at AOL, where he also served as vice chairman and president of several business units, Leonsis’ expertise adds additional depth to MediaBank’s board of directors.
“I am honored to join MediaBank’s board at this dynamic time in the company’s evolution,” said Leonsis. “As digital media continues to grow, MediaBank is meeting a critical need of media buyers — one operations and analytics platform that addresses all media types, both digital and analog. This is game changing technology that will set those who adopt it far ahead of those who don’t, and I look forward to being a part of its continued success.”
Chicago-based MediaBank welcomes Leonsis to its board, which also includes notable members:
— Betsy Holden, former CEO of Kraft Foods Inc., and current senior
advisor to McKinsey & Co.
— Linda Wolf, former CEO of Leo Burnett Worldwide
— John Walter, former president of AT&T Inc., and former CEO of RR
Donnelley
— Jack Greenberg, former CEO of McDonald’s, and Chairman of The Western
Union Co.
— Dipak Jain, Dean of the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern
University
“We welcome Ted to our leadership team at MediaBank,” said Brad Keywell, founder of MediaBank. “We are extremely proud of the discipline and insight that our board offers, and believe the strategic direction they provide will ensure our position at the forefront of media buying and analytics technology.”
In addition to his work at AOL, Leonsis is the majority owner of the National Hockey League’s Washington Capitals and the Women’s National Basketball Association’s Washington Mystics. He is also the producer of “Nanking,” a documentary film that made its premiere at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival.
