Guy Meeker, CPI Card Group, Receives ACE Certification
Tuesday 29. April 2008 - CPI Card Group announces that Guy Meeker, Director of Card Manufacturing, has been awarded the prestigious ACE certification. The ACE Examination evaluates the skills and knowledge of card manufacturing professionals and is comprised of eight key sections that candidates must have detailed knowledge of which include: PVC/Plastics, Inks, Adhesives, Printing, Collation, Lamination, Die-cutting and Standards/Testing. Those who pass the exam show a minimum proficiency in all eight areas.
The ACE designation is only awarded to people who demonstrate a broad and detailed knowledge of card manufacturing processes by successfully completing a rigorous exam. ACE accreditation validates expertise and distinguishes employees as motivated experts in the card manufacturing industry. Applicants must be working for an ICMA member company and have a minimum of three years’ industry experience.
Guy has been with CPI since 1988. Starting out in the Shipping department, Guy moved to help start and lead the Customer Service department in 1990. In 1995 he worked for CPI Card Group as an outside salesman in the Midwest gaining knowledge and understanding in customer requirements and desires. In 1997 Guy returned to CPI to run the Customer Service department and in 1999 was placed in charge of the Service Bureau.
In 2001 Guy was asked to head up manufacturing in Colorado. The Pre-press department, Printing departments, and all of manufacturing report to Guy. For the last 5 years he has been working with the CPI partners developing the MasterCard PayPass product and the VISA contactless solution for the U.S. market. CPI helped pioneer the contactless PayPass card in the United States and has produced in excess of 3.9 million contactless cards. Today Guy is actively working on new configurations for card bodies utilizing the latest in card technologies.
