FFEI to show major expansion to RealVue3D at Drupa 2008

RealVue3D

Tuesday 29. April 2008 - New capabilities for FFEI's successful RealVue3D print simulation software Expansion to the product range to include version for developers Integrator version potentially positions RealVue3D as industry standard

At Drupa 2008 (Hall 7a, B19), FFEI will be showing the latest additions to its successful 3D print simulation technology, RealVue3D.

Launched last year at Graph Expo, RealVue3D’s advanced interactive technology allows printers and designers at all levels to convert any multi page PDF into a stunning and interactive 3 dimensional visualisation. The initial product range included Presenter, Designer and Designer Pro, all of which produce platform-independent 3D simulations that can be dynamically viewed by the client. At Drupa, FFEI will be announcing an expansion to the range along with an exciting set of new simulation capabilities.

New Simulation capabilities

Continuing the tradition of innovation and technological expertise, FFEI will be previewing new RealVue3D plug-ins, with the ability to simulate the following added-value print features:

Textured papers and embossing
Special metal effects including gold, bronze and aluminium
Special effect inks
Cut outs and irregular page sizes
These exciting new features will be available to RealVue3D users, later in the year:

New RealVue3D Products

In the wake of overwhelming success for original RealVue3D product set, FFEI is expanding the range to include the following:

RealVue3D Server Pro: A server based version of Designer Pro that allows multiple users to create print simulations via template driven hot-folders. Server Pro brings a level of workflow automation into the busy and fast moving print production business.

RealVue3D Photo: A stand-alone application for creating and sharing interactive 3D photo albums. The Photo edition has a range of features to attract the amateur enthusiast and the professional photographer.

RealVue3D Developer: A programmer library suitable for OEM partners to fully integrate the RealVue3D technology into their own applications.

RealVue3D Integrator: A command line version that allows software integrators to seamlessly integrate RealVue3D technology into an existing workflow.

Mick Lister, FFEI Software Business manager commented, “RealVue3D has exceeded our expectations since we launched it last year. In addition to its very practical application for faster approval of print jobs, it also has that Wow! factor that helps designers sell their ideas and printers their added-value printing and finishing techniques. Drupa will be a great opportunity to introduce new users to the RealVue3D technology and to demonstrate the value it can add to their business.”

RealVue3D – the magic of 3D print simulation

Adding a competitive edge into print tenders and concept approval processes, RealVue3D print simulations provides the viewer with a real sense of the look and feel of print projects without the need for printing or mock ups. Print simulations can be e-mailed directly to the client or uploaded straight to web for viewing – saving time and money as well as being environmentally positive.

With RealVue3D, it is both quick and easy to create print simulations with no requirement for specialist software or skills to view them. Whether for Mac or PC, there is a version of RealVue3D to meet every business need.

Andy Cook, FFEI Managing Director commented that, “FFEI has been investing heavily in the RealVue3D technology, working closely with users to develop more new features and product options. With the addition of our Developer and Integrator kits we are opening up to new partners that may wish to adopt the technology into their existing solutions, giving RealVue3D the opportunity to become the industry standard solution.”

FFEI, the main developer of the Fujifilm XMF workflow and the first company to develop a product exclusively using Adobe’s PDF Print Engine, will be at Drupa to showcase not just products but its extensive software development and technological capabilities. With a rich heritage in developing high quality software solutions in scanning, colour, screening, RIP’s, workflows, data management and image manipulation, FFEI is using Drupa as a platform to establish itself as a reliable, innovative, creative and independent developer of software.
