FlexLink shows efficiency at Interpack
Thursday 17. April 2008 - At Interpack, FlexLink will show how to meet today's requirements in production and packaging lines with the new X85 conveyor system and distributed line control.
Increased capacity and line uptime
The speed of filling and packaging machines increase year by year and a high speed today is an ordinary speed tomorrow. FlexLink have developed the new X85 conveyor to allow high speed applications up to 120 m/min.
Meeting the demand to minimize planned and unplanned production stops, thus maximizing the MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures), the X85 conveyor is designed in detail to achieve a high uptime. Systematic testing and design engineering has resulted in noise level being reduced by more than half.
Benefits of distributed line control
Through a dynamic control of the speed, a production line can be balanced in an easy, efficient way, safeguarding a pull through the line and avoiding unnecessary accumulation. The speed goes seamlessly up and down balancing the product flow between up- and downstream machines.
Soft starts and stops and gentle transfers between products and handling equipments is a key to a high yield in production and packaging lines. By seamless control of the conveyor speed, products are handled gently, with maintained stability, but still at high line capacity. In addition, it contributes to fewer disturbances in the line.
The power consumption in todays conveyor systems can be reduced significantly when running the system only according to the need of the downstream machine or process. This means that idle running systems belong to history. Speed controlled equipment is one of the major energy saving potentials of today.
