Ricoh and Earth Hour 2008
Wednesday 09. April 2008 - Earth Hour is now becoming a global call to environmental action.
In 2008, Ricoh is ready again to switch off to help us all switch on to the common goal of reducing our CO2 footprint. This year all seven Ricoh Australia offices nationally will be participating in Earth Hour.
Safeguarding the planet is one of Ricoh’s frontline corporate missions worldwide, and business decisions are made with full consideration of the impact the action may have on the environment.
As a multi-award winning ‘Global 100’ sustainable company and World Environment Council Gold Medal winner, we continually adapt processes and practices to reduce, reuse and recycle all Ricoh trade waste. We also dedicate research to replacing carbon producing products in our printers and MFPs, such as plastic panelling and toner, with sustainable CO2 neutral alternatives.
One of the basic drivers of our Environmental Program is product stewardship. This requires Ricoh to be responsible for product waste right through the manufacturing, sales and service process, through re-use and finally at the end of their lifecycle, to the collection and recycling of up to 95% of Ricoh’s product materials.
To help achieve its long term environmental goals, Ricoh is partnering with its customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to help reduce the impact of Ricoh products on the environment. These Ricoh Green Partnerships are truly a win/win/win activity where participants and the environment can benefit. Ricoh is also involved with environmental education in schools through support for the EarthkeepersTM program.
So on 29 March join us and over 200,000 individuals and businesses globally as we all switch off to switch on government, businesses, consumers and communities to the threat of rampant CO2 emissions and climate change.
