Winners of the first annual Golden Dragon Printers Contest
Thursday 03. April 2008 - The Golden Dragon Awards ceremony, honouring winners of it's first annual printers contest took place on March 8th 2008 in Gosciniec Wiecha, a farm-themed entertainment complex situated in the Mazovian village.
Run by CEZEX, Poland’s leading paper distributor, The Golden Dragon Printers Contest opened in October 2007, sparking great interest among the country’s printing shops and companies. By the end of the year, over 200 print entries (printed exclusively on papers and plastics distributed by CEZEX) in the categories of brochure, labels, packaging, calendar, catalogue, books and advertisement were submitted from around Poland.
Printing excellence, which included perfection in additional finishing processes, degree of difficulty as well as paper selection, was judged by Jacek Hamerlinski – pre-press specialist, Zbigniew Kosiorek – print expert and Dr. Jerzy Petriaszwili – finishing process tutor at the Warsaw Politechnical University (Printing Engineering Department). A total of 8 Gold, 7 Silver and 9 Bronze Dragon awards, as well as 3 exceptional achievement awards were given by CEZEX. An additional trophy was sponsored and awarded by Gold East Paper. Furthermore, entries printed on papers produced by Sappi Fine Paper Europe, will have the opportunity to take part in the international competition: Sappi European Printer of The Year.
The highest level of printing works submitted to CEZEX’s first annual Golden Dragon Printers Contest has proved that Polish printers do hold the highest degree of sophistication and professionalism in their field.
