Heidelberg unveils the new Dymatrix 145 CSB die-cutter

Friday 07. March 2008 - • Perfectly coordinated with the new Speedmaster XL 145 • Non-stop high-performance sheet feeder maximizes productivity • Easy job and die tool changes ensure short makeready times

At drupa 2008, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) will be unveiling the new Dymatrix 145 CSB (cutting, stripping, and blanking) die-cutter. This machine processes sheets up to a maximum format of 106 × 145 cm (41.73 x 57.09 in) and is perfectly coordinated with the new Speedmaster XL 145. A non-stop high-performance sheet feeder ensures reliable end-to-end sheet transport via the belt table to the register. The feeder is easy to operate, even on the fly. Straightforward job and die tool changes ensure short makeready times, thereby maximizing productivity and minimizing downtimes. The Dymatrix 145 CSB operates at speeds of up to 8,000 sheets per hour and can process materials thicknesses of 80 gsm to 2,000 gsm and corrugated board up to 4 mm (0.16 in) thick. It can also be integrated seamlessly into the Prinect workflow, making it ideal for packaging printshops.

Tried-and-tested technology now also available for the 145 mm format
The Dymatrix 145 CSB uses tried-and-tested technology, such as the patented register system, moving upper platen, and electronically controlled sheet brake. The moving upper platen principle ensures that material travels extremely smoothly through the machine.
As a result, even thin materials and small elements can be die-cut with precision, creating added value and resulting in enhanced differentiation in folding carton production.

The servo drives for belt table, suction head, and main and auxiliary piles ensure optimum control of sheet travel and reliable sheet separation. A motor is used to adjust the feeder to the sheet format, thereby cutting makeready times. In the die-cutting station, the chase and cutting plate are locked and unlocked fully automatically for job changes and automatically removed from the machine for tool changes.

The operator can perform die changes more quickly and reliably with the optional hydraulic chase. This results in straightforward handling and simplified setup during job changes, and high precision during positioning.

The non-stop delivery of the Dymatrix 145 includes fully automatic pallet changing. Empty pallets are automatically placed in a pallet station underneath the operating platform, while finished pallets are transported out of the die-cutter.
