Theisen Elected Chief Executive Officer of Bemis Company

Monday 04. February 2008 - The Board of Directors of Bemis Company, Inc. (NYSE: BMS) announced that it elected Henry J. Theisen to be President and Chief Executive Officer, at yesterday's Board meeting.

Theisen succeeds Jeffrey H. Curler, who will continue as Executive Chairman of Bemis Company, Inc. and will support Theisen in a variety of activities including acquisition work, strategic direction, board relations, governance, and capitalization issues.

“Henry is a strong leader with an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of our business,” said Curler. “His extensive industry experience and technical expertise make him uniquely qualified to provide sound direction and leadership to Bemis through the next phase of our growth strategy and to further enhance shareholder value. On behalf of the board, I congratulate Henry on his new role and look forward to Bemis’ continued growth and success in the years ahead.”

Theisen has held a variety of leadership positions during his 32-year career with Bemis, including responsibilities for operations, research and development, and marketing. He was elected Vice President of Operations in 2002, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in 2003, and President and Chief Operating Officer in 2007. Theisen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from the University of Wisconsin.
