Kodak Features Comprehensive Set of Solutions for Photo Press Products at the Photo Marketing Association Show

Monday 04. February 2008 - Kodak spotlights its digital color presses at the Photo Marketing Association (PMA) 08 Show, Jan. 31-Feb. 2 in Las Vegas.

“The modularity of KODAK NEXPRESS Solutions helps photo service providers offer short-run digital photo product applications such as photobooks, calendars and cards, which allow them to differentiate their services and expand their businesses,” said Nader Anvari, Director of New Market Development, Kodak’s Graphic Communications Group.

The new KODAK NEXPRESS M700 Digital Color Press, with its powerful front end and superb image quality, is one of the many solutions that Kodak offers photo service providers for a full range of capabilities for building, processing, printing and finishing photo press products.

“The NEXPRESS M700 Press enables photo service providers to establish a digital photo services business at an affordable price. Other offerings, like the KODAK NEXPRESS S3000 Digital Production Color Press, add powerful productivity and dependability as the digital photo merchandising business grows,” added Anvari.

For building photo applications, Kodak offers photo authoring solutions such as the KODAK NEXPRESS Photobook Software and DigiLabs. NEXPRESS Press users can tap into digital print production software used by professional photo labs with the KODAK NEXPRESS Photo Connectivity Module for DP2, which provides a seamless workflow between KODAK PROFESSIONAL Digital Print Production Software (DP2) and the NEXPRESS Press. Also promoting a streamlined production process is the KODAK NEXPRESS Photo Connectivity Module, middleware that automatically connects the NEXPRESS Press with third party photo authoring software solutions, including DigiLabs service provider. KODAK NEXPRESS Image Enhancement Server (IES) offers photo service providers another tool to improve their press products by automatically making image quality adjustments in the PDF file before it is sent to the KODAK NEXPRESS Front End. The results are richer details and more vibrant colors.

In addition to the NEXPRESS M700 Press, the KODAK NEXPRESS Digital Color Platform also includes the KODAK NEXPRESS 2100 Plus, 2500 and S3000 Digital Production Color Presses, the KODAK NEXPRESS Vp Front End, and the KODAK NEXGLOSSER Glossing Unit. Expanding the NEXPRESS Platform of digital color printing solutions enables customers to enter the digital printing market and increase their digital printing business by selecting the NEXPRESS Press that meets their current business needs and sets them on a course for growth.

For photo applications, KODAK NEXPRESS Digital Production Color Presses—with award winning KODAK NEXPRESS Fifth Imaging Unit Solutions—can place texture to the surface of a print inline on the press. Kodak’s digital texturizing capabilities provide printers and photos labs with competitive differentiation in the photo services market.

Also at PMA, DigiLabs, an eleven year old California based photo service provider, will demonstrate its photo authoring solutions through the KODAK NEXPRESS M700 Press in Kodak’s booth E-150.

“The KODAK NEXPRESS Digital Color Platform provides photo service providers with the productivity, uptime and market edge quality they can depend upon, day to day and job to job, which is key to the successful growth of their photo press applications,” concluded Anvari.

In addition to providing high quality, productivity and reliability for photo applications, NEXPRESS Presses are also environmentally responsive. The NEXPRESS Presses are composed of recycled and recyclable materials, can utilize Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) approved papers, and use non-toxic dry ink that is easily recycled.
