KODAK APEX System Wins Prestigious DIMA Innovative Digital Product Award

Friday 01. February 2008 - Award Cites Innovation and Competitive Differentiation of Kodak’s New Thermal, Behind-the-Counter Dry Lab Solution

The Digital Imaging Marketing Association (DIMA) has awarded the DIMA Innovative Digital Product Award to the new KODAK Adaptive Picture Exchange (APEX). The APEX system, a behind-the-counter, thermal, dry lab solution, provides retailers with unprecedented ease-of-use and flexibility. DIMA announced the award, which judges new products on innovation, competitive differentiation and retailer benefit, at the Photo Marketing Association Show (PMA).

“This award recognizes the very purpose of APEX – providing our retail customers with a truly new system to help maximize their behind-the-counter revenue opportunities,” said Nicki Zongrone, general manager of Kodak’s Retail Systems Solutions Group and vice president, Eastman Kodak Company. “Innovation, adaptability and efficiency help ensure that retailers immediately see a benefit while also creating a long-term strategy for growth and profitability. We’re honored to have this solution receive the DIMA Innovative Digital Product Award.”

New components within APEX include:

the KODAK 7000 Photo Printer with new KODAK XTRALIFE II Paper, enabling retailers to offer a wide selection of profitable products while substantially reducing material costs and streamlining inventory handling. The system is 1-2-3 easy:
–ONE single media SKU

–TWO finishes – satin and gloss

–THREE sizes – 4×6, 6×8 and bordered 5×7

KODAK DL2100 Duplex Printer, which allows retailers to produce photo books on-site within minutes
the new APEX workstation with advanced high-speed processing, APEX software, a new simple user interface, and ergonomic design, all of which reduce setup and training time and increase employee productivity
Most importantly, the adaptive APEX system allows retailers to scale from low- to high-volume environments as business needs expand and new product offerings become available. Because the components of Kodak’s APEX system are modular, retailers can choose from dozens of configuration options to best meet their needs.

The new KODAK APEX System will be available in early Q2, 2008.
