M&R Introduces the Abacus Manual Numbering Press
Wednesday 30. January 2008 - M&Rs Abacus sets a new standard for number printing performance, quality, and flexibility.
Abacus combines M&Rs versatile numbering system with Chameleon quality, performance, and durability. This unique manual numbering press uses a modified Chameleon 8-station manual press as its base and a 20-printhead Duo-Deck configuration on top. This configuration makes it a breeze to print two-color numbers. Abacus accepts a wide variety of pallets, including flat pallets and five types of swivel-and-slide numbering pallets. M&Rs numbering pallets enable users to print two digits on a single shirt without flashing. They also slide from side to side to adjust for kerning when printing the “1” digit. The standard frame size for M&Rs numbering system is 38 x 58 cm (15″ x 23″).
Abacus also excels at standard multi-color printing. It can simultaneously accommodate screen frames up to 51 x 61 cm (20 x 24″) in all 20 printheads, or screen frames up to 58 x 79 cm (23″ x 31″) in every other printhead. M&R offers a wide selection of pallet arms, including numbering pallets in 10, 15, 20, 25 & 30 cm (4″, 6″, 8″, 10″ & 12″) number sizes. M&Rs unique, ergonomically-designed indexer handles (optional) make it easy to rotate the lower carousel. Abacus features also include a machine-tooled and polished 7.62 cm (3″) center shaft, heavy-duty tapered roller bearings, extra-large knobs, micro-registration with dual off-contact adjustment, and tool-free spring tension adjustment.
To complement Abacus, M&R developed specialized versions of the Tri-Loc Registration System and the Serrano Flash. The Abacus Tri-Loc System allows users to achieve precise registration on numbering screen frames. The Serrano V Flash System allows simultaneous flashing of both halves of inverted-V numbering pallets.
