FUJIFILM announces “PRESSMAX” at drupa 2008
Friday 18. January 2008 - A new range of environmentally-friendly pressroom chemistry
FUJIFILM Corporation today announces a new environmentally-friendly premium brand of pressroom chemistry under the name of “PRESSMAX” as part of a strategy to help printers optimise print quality and press performance with minimal environmental impact. The PRESSMAX products are part of a suite of solutions to be demonstrated by FUJIFILM at drupa 2008.
PRESSMAX pressroom products have been designed to optimise the ecology, economy, efficiency, quality and productivity of offset litho presses and consist of a range of fountain solutions, blanket washes, anti set-off powders, coatings, glues, silicone emulsions and auxiliary products. All products within the range are complementary to FUJIFILM offset printing plates but are also compatible with all other printing plates.
The PRESSMAX range is based on FUJIFILMs long experience in the development, manufacture and supply of pressroom solutions to the graphic arts industry and its continuous improvement is guided by realworld customer experience. Our pressroom product division has 10 manufacturing facilities around the world to ensure consistent quality and availability.

i) Complete range of pressroom products
Within the PRESSMAX range are products to solve any pressroom problem that may arise, whether it be to do with the fountain solution, or the cleaning regime on the press. These products are supported by local application specialists who can provide consultancy and hands-on assistance to help maximize press performance.
ii) Environmentally-friendly
All FUJIFILM products go through a “Design for Environment” programme that aims to minimize the environmental impact of a product over its entire life. In addition to this, PRESSMAX products can help printers reduce their own environmental impact. For instance, the range of PRESSMAX founts include alcohol-free versions for all press types and cobalt-free versions with accelerated drying agents. In addition, fast drying and low odour versions of PRESSMAX washes are available to minimise environmental impact, and PRESSMAX cleaning products are aimed at VOC-reduction.
iii) Certified to a variety of standards
PRESSMAX coatings are FDA-certified, a requirement in the food packaging industry, and PRESSMAX anti set-off powders are approved by professional trade associations. FUJIFILM also works closely together with the worlds leading manufacturers of presses and has the widest range of FOGRA approved products on the European market to assure excellent protection of the printers equipment.
