FUJIFILM and XEROX align at drupa 2008

Thursday 17. January 2008 - Partnership leverages companies’ combined offset and digital printing expertise to help graphic arts print providers grow profits

FUJIFILM Corporation (Tokyo, Japan) and Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX, Rochester, N.Y.) announced that they will use drupa 2008, the world’s largest printing show, to demonstrate the collaborative strengths of both companies and show how their enhanced reseller partnership can benefit commercial printers looking to profit from digital printing technology. The two companies will be exhibiting alongside each other in Hall 8b, the “Digital Printing Zone”, and will demonstrate their digital and offset press technologies with supporting integrated workflows, colour management and print on demand solutions.
As a key reseller partner for Xerox digital presses in Europe, FUJIFILM now can provide Xerox solutions to their offset customers who want to invest or expand in digital press technology. The partnership enables FUJIFILM customers to have a single supply company for all of their pre-press and digital printing needs.
Digital technology enables print providers to meet customers’ growing needs for short runs, fast turnarounds, variable data and web submissions as well as personalized communications that are cost-effective and of the highest quality.
“While commercial printers are embracing digital technology to profit from new services and applications, they are also looking at ways to integrate their offset capabilities,” said Quincy Allen, president, Xerox Production Systems Group. “The Xerox and FUJIFILM combo leverages FUJIFILM’s knowledge and experience with offset workflows and Xerox’s innovation and market leading digital production portfolio to provide seamless integration into any graphic arts environment.”
FUJIFILM, a leading pre-press offset supplier, and Xerox, a market-leading digital press solutions provider, have enjoyed a strong relationship since the foundation of Fuji Xerox (Tokyo, Japan) in 1962. Bringing the distribution channels of FUJIFILM and Xerox together to maximize the opportunities has been a natural process, with FUJIFILM becoming a reseller of Xerox digital presses in the U.S. market in 2003. The reseller arrangement expanded to the Canadian market in 2006 and most recently to the European market in 2007.
“Xerox is the clear industry leader in advanced digital color presses for the Graphic Arts market”, said Nobuaki Inoue, general manager, Graphic system business in FUJIFILM. “Pairing Xerox digital equipment with the powerful FUJIFILM portfolio deepens our comprehensive range of products and services, enabling new digital revenues for printers of all sizes.”
