New KODAK AutoMagic Self-Burning CD-Rs Make It Easy to Download Images, Music, Data

Wednesday 09. January 2008 - New KODAK AutoMagic self-burning CDs make it easy even for computer novices to burn sound, images and data onto a CD-R. The disc has built-in software for copying digital content onto the CD.

“This is great news for all the people who want to store images, music or data on a CD but lack the computer skills,” said Jim Gordon, Sr., Vice President of Marketing for KMP Media. “Now they can avoid the hassle of downloading, installing and learning how to use a more complex software package.”

The unique, built-in software on each KODAK AutoMagic CD makes it easy. It takes just a few clicks and leaves no software clutter behind when the job is finished. The hybrid CD-R discs are designed for use with Microsoft Windows 2000, XP and Vista operating systems.

Self-recording discs are the easy answer for copying photos, backing up key documents and creating portable storage for music. The KODAK AutoMagic CD-R is available now and is expected to retail for about $4.99 for a 2-pack.

When one of these CDs is placed in a computer the application pops up on the screen and the user can select and record images, music and other files with just a few clicks. The software takes up little space, leaving 90% of the disc space free for storing content.

Users can preview, rotate and select photos and even record them directly from a digital camera. The discs also can be read into home video players and compilations of MP3 or WMA music can be made with KODAK AutoMagic CDs and played on any device that supports those formats.

KMP Media is also showing other premium products at CES ’08, such as KODAK Gold Preservation System CDs and DVDs that combine high-quality storage with a useful life of 300 years or more for CDs and 100 for DVDs. The system now includes an archival jewel case with features designed specifically for safe storage of important discs.

Also at CES are KODAK Blu-Ray DVDs with approximately 25 GB of storage space and high-definition HD-DVDs with 15 GB capacity. In addition, KMP Media offers the KODAK LightScribe Disc, which enables users to burn a silk-screen- like label on the topside of a CD or DVD.

Rounding out the new premium product releases are a complete line-up of commercial duplication CDs and DVDs. These inkjet surface discs are available in standard white and silver matte, waterproof white, professional grade and 24K Gold archival grade.
