PJ Print receives jogger at a sprint

Wednesday 12. August 2015 - PJ Print is impressed by the response of Heidelberg UK which managed to supply it with a jogger within a week to replace an overworked unit.

The Acton company which specialises in greetings card production runs a Heidelberg CD 102 press and uses older Heidelberg equipment for Cito die-cutting, foiling and flittering.
It also runs a Polar 137ED and had picked up a second jogger at an auction four years ago but it had started to need constant maintenance and repair and had become extremely noisy.
Now the operators have been able to discard their ear defenders as the new Polar RA-4 jogger has been rushed across from Germany.
“The jogger has to work when we need it to work and now it does,” says Rick Nock, technical director. “Speed is not the priority; we will benefit most from a better quality cut and less maintenance and noise. We are regularly handling 280gsm and 300gsm stocks so a jogger is indispensable. Accurate cutting is critical in greetings card production because of the post cutting processes.
“When we first enquired Heidelberg quoted delivery times of three or four months so we were very grateful when they were able to respond to our urgent need.”
Polar cutting equipment and materials handling is well known for its reliability and robustness. It is a partnership Heidelberg highly values.
