photokina 2020: A Visit to the Motherland of Imaging

The city partnership between Cologne and Kyoto has existed since 1963 and is characterised by a lively exchange from sport to art and culture. The state of North Rhine-Westphalia, with Cologne as the largest metropolis, has long been one of Europes most important locations for Japan. Over 600 companies have settled here. The photokina is also an integral part of the good connection to Japan. A delegation from the city of Cologne, Koelnmesse and the Photoindustrie-Verband (PIV) confirmed this connection during a visit to Tokyo.

Kodak and Uteco sell first ultrastream powered press

Kodak is introducing its superior ULTRASTREAM technology in the NEW UTECO Sapphire EVO W, the first flexible packaging press to enter the market using Kodaks latest continuous inkjet technology. The first ULTRASTREAM system with a print width of 1.25 meters has been sold into the market in advance of its expected debut at drupa 2020 in Dusseldorf, Germany with a healthy pipeline of active prospects. The wide format of the new Sapphire EVO W allows brands to leverage digital printing in their traditional flexographic print formats.
