Obility with its own stand at drupa 2020

In 2020 Obility will be present for the first time with its own stand at drupa (16 – 26 June in Düsseldorf). With this, the Koblenz-based software house is responding to the increasing importance of the Obility e-business print platform in the German-speaking print and media market. At the last three drupa trade fairs, Obility participated in the drupa innovation park (dip) in Hall 7. In 2020, the company is continuing this tradition in that it will once again be located with its own stand in Hall 7a (Stand B43) in an area of the drupa that is known by visitors to the trade fair for its particular density of innovations.

Mutoh Europe Announces Dedicated RIP Solution for its UV LED Direct To Object Flatbed Printers

Mutoh Europe nv, EMEA business unit of Mutoh Industries Co. Ltd. Japan, today announced the release of a dedicated RIP software solution for its UV LED direct to object flatbed production printers, called Digital Factory UV – Mutoh Edition. Developed for Mutoh Europe by CADlink Technology Corporation, this new RIP solution has been specifically tailored to the Mutoh ValueJet 426UF A3+ size and ValueJet 626UF A2-size 6 colour (C, M, Y, K, Clear & White) UV LED flatbed printer models.

Doug Edwards, former CEO of Xaar, becomes CTO of EFI

Electronics For Imaging, Inc. today announced the appointment of Dr. Douglas Edwards as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). With his extensive experience in the printing industry, Edwards succeeds Ghilad Dziesietnik, who recently retired after nearly 25 years with EFI, including the last 14 years as CTO. Edwards, who will take up his new responsibilities today, has many years of experience in management positions as well as in research and development. Prior to his appointment as CTO of EFI, Edwards was CEO of Xaar plc, a leading developer of inkjet print head technology based in Cambridge, England, and Chairman of Xaar 3D Ltd, the joint venture company with Stratasys Ltd for 3D printing.

Innovative new Ghent Workgroup specification for Sign & Display market

The Ghent Workgroup (GWG) today releases an innovative specification to address the Sign & Display segment. Given the diversity within this segment, the new specification incorporates the notion of viewing distance and scaling factor. This allows having one specification, but still to address the big differences in printing techniques within typical sign & display jobs.

Print Industry Executive Geoff Loftus Joins EFI for New Customer Advocacy and Service Initiative

Electronics For Imaging, Inc. has embarked on a strategic initiative to enhance its commitment to customer satisfaction by strengthening global service offerings. Long-time print industry service executive Geoff Loftus has joined EFI to help drive this initiative for the companys global inkjet operations. Loftus, who is EFIs new vice president of global inkjet service, will spearhead customer advocacy and service with a large portion of the companys client base – thousands of customers worldwide who rely on EFI for high-quality display graphicssignage, packaging, textiles and building material print production.
