Over three days at Labelexpo Americas in Chicago, Gallus joined forces with Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) to demonstrate efficient integration of multiple printing technologies in a hybrid print shop environment to improve the success of its label printing customers. According to the live demonstrations, the ideal shop consists of high performance flexographic presses for short, medium and long runs, plus digital equipment for very short runs and variable imaging projects, and converting systems positioned either in-line or offline depending on the type of job being run. Each job is controlled by a management information system (MIS) that defines its path, then reports its performance at the end of the run.
Labelexpo Americas 2012 attracted a record attendance of 14,335 label and package printing professionals as it returned to the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, Rosemont, Illinois near Chicago, between 11-13 September. Up by over 12% on 2010’s edition, it was a new record for America’s largest label converting show since first being held in 1989.

This week at the Anti-Counterfeiting & Brand Protection Summit, Kodak explains how during a panel discussion, “Building Successful Criminal Cases to Combat Counterfeiting and Fraud.” Kevin Harrell, Kodak’s Director of Global Commercial Business for Security Solutions, will discuss how companies can use technology to forensically distinguish legitimate from counterfeit products and packaging and prevent diversion of goods within the supply chain. The panel begins at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20, at Sentry Centers in New York.
