PAYNE & CONTEGO TO RE-BRAND TO ESSENTRA PACKAGING IN H2 2013
Payne’s & Contego’s parent company, Filtrona plc (“Filtrona” or “the Company”) has indicated that, with effect from 26th June 2013, it will be renamed as Essentra plc. In addition, effective from the same date, the Company’s Coated & Security Products division, of which Payne & Contego are a part, will be renamed as Packaging & Securing Solutions, to better reflect the division’s business activities. Following this, Payne & Contego will re-brand to Essentra Packaging during the second half of this year, with a view that the roll-out is completed by the end of 2013.

Cubbison Company Acquires Drake Labels of Austin, Texas
Cubbison Company has taken a significant step to establish leadership in the graphic product identification and printed electronics fields, with the announcement of its acquisition of Drake Industries, Inc. dba Drake Labels of Austin, Texas. The addition of the central Texas facility will enable Cubbison to meet growing customer demand for their products throughout North America.

SAVE FOOD: Messe Düsseldorf and FAO define their cooperation for the coming years
Messe Düsseldorf and the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) have reached an agreement on their continued cooperation on the SAVE FOOD initiative for the coming years. Werner Matthias Dornscheidt, President and CEO of Messe Düsseldorf, and Daniel Gustafson, Deputy Director-General, Operations at FAO, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to this effect in Rome at FAO’s headquarters on 9 May 2013.

GIZEH: International Preferred Supplier Award from Müller
The plastic packaging specialist GIZEH has been awarded the title of “International Preferred Supplier” by Müller-Milch and Homann Feinkost. GIZEH’s managing director, Ralf Jung, accepted the award in person at the headquarters of the Theo Müller consortium in Aretsried.

Labels lead the way
Chesapeake Label sites in Bourne and Wrexham have just been awarded the new Investors in People (IIP) Bronze standard. This certification upgrades each site’s existing IIP status and recognises both sites have achieved an additional 26 requirements above the core IIP standard.
