Avery Dennison has signed on as gold sponsor of this year’s Label Summit Latin America which is being held in Colombia for the first time between 14-15 May. The two-day conference and table top exhibition, which is the label and package printing industry’s premier dedicated event in the region, will be held at the Intercontinental Hotel in Medellín.

In November 2013, the Weidenhammer Packaging Group (WPG), Europe’s leading supplier of composite cans, composite drums and plastic containers, and the AR Packaging Group (AR), headquartered in Lund, Sweden, agreed in a joint Letter of Intent that the WPG would purchase the two businesses A&R Carton Lund and Flextrus. This planned acquisition has now been called-off.

Bemis to Sell Paper Packaging Division to Hood Packaging Corporation

Bemis Company, Inc. (NYSE:BMS) announced today that it has reached an agreement to sell its Paper Packaging Division to Hood Packaging Corporation, a privately-held company headquartered in Madison, Mississippi and Burlington, Ontario. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. This transaction, which is subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approval, is expected to close during the first quarter of 2014.
