Weidenhammer Packaging Group’s planned acquisition of A&R Carton Lund and Flextrus has been called-off

In November 2013, the Weidenhammer Packaging Group (WPG), Europe’s leading supplier of composite cans, composite drums and plastic containers, and the AR Packaging Group (AR), headquartered in Lund, Sweden, agreed in a joint Letter of Intent that the WPG would purchase the two businesses A&R Carton Lund and Flextrus. This planned acquisition has now been called-off.

Rexam acquires majority stake in Middle East beverage can maker

Rexam PLC, a leading global beverage can maker, announces that it has signed an agreement to acquire a 51% stake in beverage can maker United Arab Can Manufacturing Limited (UAC) for US$122m. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to complete in Q3 2014.

Bemis to Sell Paper Packaging Division to Hood Packaging Corporation

Bemis Company, Inc. (NYSE:BMS) announced today that it has reached an agreement to sell its Paper Packaging Division to Hood Packaging Corporation, a privately-held company headquartered in Madison, Mississippi and Burlington, Ontario. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. This transaction, which is subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approval, is expected to close during the first quarter of 2014.

Bobst Group increases its turnover by 7.1% due to positive contribution of all three Business Units and all regions of the world

For the full year 2013, consolidated sales increased by CHF 90 million to CHF 1.354 billion. Sales in the second half of 2013 reached CHF 791 million compared with CHF 563 million in the first six months of the year, and to CHF 731 million in the second semester 2012.
