Glasgow-based J Thomson Colour Printers has switched press supplier to KBA in a two-press deal signed at Drupa. The contract is for a six-colour Rapida 106 plus coater with LED UV and a conventional ten-colour Rapida 106 perfector for 5/5 printing.
Bangladeshs first Rapida 106 will be delivered at the end of August. NRG Printing & Packaging decided in favour of the no.1 in packaging printing and the world makeready champion in sheetfed offset with this investment. The company operates 18 sheetfed offset presses. The seven-colour Rapida 106 with coater and UV kit will soon ensure that the company can target new markets.
The sales and service company manroland web printing equipment (Beijing) Co. Ltd. was inaugurated at the new office in the Chinese capital together with journalists and 40 customers from the Beijing area. Among those present at the opening ceremony were manroland web systems Managing Director, Joern Gossé, the new employees at the company, and German specialists from manroland web systems who were in China to carry out installations.
Druckerei Chmielorz from Wiesbaden, Germany, opted for a ten-colour Rapida 106 for 5-over-5 perfecting at drupa 2016. The press will be installed in the 4th quarter of this year and boasts a raft of technical highlights geared to efficient and high-performance print production. That includes a number of features unique to KBA, such as the sidelay-free infeed DriveTronic SIS, simultaneous plate changing with DriveTronic SPC, special accessory packages for lightweight stocks and high-speed production up to 18,000sph, and QualiTronic ColorControl for inline quality assurance.
The InPEQ Forum, a meeting of members of the printing industry from the Balkan States and their European partners, took place for the eleventh time on June 7th. This years host was the main sponsor of the event, manroland web systems. drupa 2016 was chosen as a befitting location by the organisation of Eastern European printers. More than 50 managers and experts from the printing industry from a total of twelve European countries participated in the event. Alongside a live presentation of newspaper production with the variable Inline Finishing Module FoldLine at the manroland web systems Stand, there was time for interesting discussions and a multitude of useful contacts were made.
Mayer & Söhne Druck- und Mediengruppe (GmbH & Co. KG) are equipping their existing GEOMAN newspaper printing system from manroland web systems for the future and renewing the 17-year partnership between the two companies. Mayer & Söhne are investing in a comprehensive electrical and mechanical retrofit. The machine will be additionally equipped with the modern new control station “ControlCenter” from manroland web systems. The contract was signed at drupa 2016.
