In keeping with the company motto: Tradition meets Innovation, the 1823 founded Vorländer publishing house decided to modernize its printing facility in Dreis-Tiefenbach, Germany with the new newspaper press GEOMAN e:line that has been introduced at drupa 2016.
Collaboration between the UK-based printer Newsprinters UK and the Dutch specialist in automation systems for the printing industry, Q.I. Press Controls (QIPC), is progressing nicely. In the wake of a huge order from Newsprinters in 2014, both parties are now reflecting on almost three years of successful cooperation and looking forward to a bright new future.
UK label and packaging experts MPH Fulfilment have purchased their sixth Edale press – a 430 wide, 10 colour FL3 suitable for the production of labels and film and is currently undergoing installation.
Contracted by Gannett Publishing Services, Harland Simon has replaced the Metso Automatic Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) at The Courier Journal in Louisville, KY. The new system allows for the maintenance of an inventory of newspaper rolls within the warehouse, storage bins and roll preparation areas. The upgrade ensures rolls can be delivered to the reel pans in a timely manner.
