Albéa, the worlds largest manufacturer of laminate tubes for cosmetics and oral care packaging, has further invested in Nilpeter technology with the acquisition of new FA-presses for company sites in India, Brazil, and Poland. Most have already been installed, with installation on going in Brazil.
Koenig & Bauer has set up a five-year endowed chair at the Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences. After regular appointment proceedings, Dr. Helene Dörksen has been appointed to the chair with effect from 1st August 2019. The goal of the endowed chair is to promote development and research in the field of document authentication and classification.
The Supervisory Board of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) has appointed Marcus A. Wassenberg (52) as ordinary member of the Management Board and Chief Financial Officer of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG with effect from September 1, 2019. Wassenberg succeeds Dirk Kaliebe, who, as previously announced, will leave the company at his own request at the end of September and will be available for an orderly transition.
Industrial packaging printers in Saudi Arabia operate sheetfed offset presses from Koenig & Bauer, among them Al Obeikan Folding Carton, Noor Carton for Packaging and Al Jawad Printing Press. Meanwhile, Rapida presses have also been strengthening their foothold among commercial users, and here in particular in government-run printing houses. Koenig & Bauer was recently successful with four tenders in relatively quick succession, and can now point to four new customers for its modern technology.
The Heidelberg-Gallus RCS 330 has a long history of success in producing award-winning print jobs at customer sites. Recently, Berry Global, headquartered in Evansville, Indiana, was recognized as Best of Show at the 2019 FTA Flexography Awards in the narrow web category for their Vicious Styling Boost XTS Series Shampoo Tube and produced several other award winning jobs at the 2019 and previous FTA Flexography Awards on its Heidelberg-Gallus equipment.

Micropress is going to install a Push to Stop concept Speedmaster XL 106-8-P with Autoplate XL and Inpress Control next month. This innovative operating concept from Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) implements autonomous printing for certain standard jobs. At the same time, it has secured planning permission for a 16,000 sq ft paper warehouse and builders are in place to start the work which will be completed early next year. Together, these represent an investment of 4m by the Southwold company.
