The New York Times Company to Launch “Your Guide to Better Living” Magazine and Web Site

The New York Times Company will launch Your Guide to Better Living, a free quarterly magazine and Web site intended to help baby boomers and their families as they consider transitions in lifestyle. The premiere issue will be published on March 1, 2011, and the companion Web site, www.BetterLiving.com will go live on the same date.

Quebecor joins forces with the Société de transport de Montréal: 24 Heures to be the exclusive free daily in the Montreal metro as of January 2011

Following a call for proposals, the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) today announced a deal with Quebecor Media for the publication and exclusive distribution of the free daily 24 Heures in the Montreal metro system. This renewable agreement, of a minimum term of 5 years, will allow 24 Heures to make its way into metro stations starting on January 3rd, 2011.

Ringier Axel Springer Media AG acquires majority in leading Slovakian internet portal AZET.SK

Ringier Axel Springer Media AG, one of the leading media companies in Central and Eastern Europe, has acquired through its Slovakian subsidiary a 70 percent stake in the provider of the Slovakian web portal AZET.SK. The horizontal internet portal AZET.SK operates a number of different websites and online services. Founded in 1997, the company reaches more than 75 percent of Slovakian internet users (approx. 1.9 million unique users) and is the country’s online market leader.

The Baltimore Sun announces Bob Little as Head of Investigative and Enterprise Content

The Baltimore Sun has appointed veteran reporter Bob Little as the Head of Investigative and Enterprise Content. In this newly created position, Little will be responsible for overseeing all investigative projects. Little recently served as Sunday Editor, supervising short and long-term reporting projects and assigning, developing and selecting articles, photographs and graphics for the Sunday and weekend editions.
