The upgraded Advantage, which now incorporates Rollems Digital Scoring System, is the ideal system for post press handling of work printed on digital presses. This includes the production of direct mail, brochures, greetings cards, POS leaflets, post cards and photo products.
UK manufacturer Autobond is planning a technology demonstration at Ipex 2010 that could have implications far beyond the laminating process, an area in which it is now a world leader. Autobond hopes to show a Mini sheet-fed laminator with the ability to inkjet print a spot UV, LED curable varnish in-line on top of matt film, as managing director John Gilmore explains.
Rollem has teamed up with Heidelberg and Sappi to produce 32,000 packs of playing cards during Ipex. Prior to the exhibition, Heidelberg used a Speedmaster XL 105-10-P to print the cards on 285 gsm Sappi Algro Design Card, and during Ipex Rollem will use its Revolution finishing system to demonstrate how one operator can transform seamlessly printed sheets into fully wrapped decks.
Autobond is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of sheet-fed film laminators, with customers in more than 145 countries and an unrivalled product range – the result of 28 years of designing, building, installing and servicing laminators. The company manufactures the laminators at its factory in Derbyshire and this is also the headquarters for a global business in the export of laminate films and adhesives.
UK manufacturer Rollem has recently celebrated its 80th anniversary with the development of several innovative finishing systems for the sheet-fed market. However, there is nothing new in this. The company has been involved in bespoke finishing equipment since 1929 and today it is one of the worlds leaders in this field of technology. Breaking new barriers is an integral part of everyday life.
