Austrian bookbindery Immerl extends its cutting capacity by another cutting machine trusting again in a POLAR high-speed cutter. The existing machine is complemented by a POLAR N 137 PLUS model.
The Mönch bookbindery in the city of Leipzig in eastern Germany has produced thread-sewn books with shorter signatures for over a decade – first manually, and now industrially using the Tween option on the Ventura MC book sewing machine. “In order to make print products more attractive, you have to try something new from time to time,” believe the two innovative company owners Bettina and André Mönch.
Blockfoil, Europe’s largest foiling company, has installed its fifth Masterwork Graphic Equipment MK 1060 ST automatic foil stamping press in order to handle the increase in packaging work being won by the group. The latest machine joins another MK 1060 ST at Blockfoil’s Ipswich factory, while similar models are in use at its Nottingham and Manchester sites.
When it commissioned the world’s first FlexLiner from Muller Martini with a production speed of 30,000 copies per hour to replace two older inserting systems, SKN Druck u. Verlag GmbH & Co. KG in Emden (East Frisia/Germany), which specializes in inserting inserts in inserts, increased its net production by a whopping 79 percent – with one machine less. “At least 50 percent is due to our new inserting system,” says Christian Basse, publisher and sole shareholder of SKN.
