Highcon presents agile production with digital finishing at drupa 2020

At drupa 2020, Highcon (Hall 9, Stand C50) will show how far the digital revolution has already progressed. At its third appearance at the worlds largest print trade fair, the manufacturer will present field-tested products for folding carton and corrugated board production that can cope with a wide range of requirements in terms of speed, format and substrate.

Digital laser cutting: Thimm installs a unique technology across Europe

Thimm is once again assuming the role of pioneer and has invested in a machine for the digital laser cutting of corrugated cardboard. The new Highcon Beam 2C machine is unique in Europe as regards its design and opens up unusually creative opportunities for packaging designers. Lasers can cut delicate designs out of corrugated cardboard which previously could only be produced with difficulty, or not at all.

This is presented to recipients who have contributed to the economic future of Augsburg through their creativity and innovation. Head of Human Resources at BÖWE SYSTEC, Stefan Kooss, accepted the award at a ceremony in the Princes Chamber at the City Hall from the Lord Mayor Dr Kurt Gribl and the Mayor Eva Weber.

Universal conveyor clears the way for automation and improved workflow

Linus Wittich Media Group counts among the largest publishers of local newspapers in Germany. The Group also operates three printing plants, the largest being Druckhaus Wittich KG Föhren in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate: from here alone, around 200 local newspaper titles leave the presses every week. Ferag MultiStack compensating stackers recently began organizing those into handy bundles. By switching to Ferag technology, Wittich was able to overcome several challenges at a single stroke.
