Persistently high raw material prices forcing printing-ink manufacturers to act

Despite short-term volatility over the course of the past two years, the prices of raw materials used in the production of printing inks have climbed to new record levels. At present, and also in view of the gloomy economic outlook, it can be safely assumed that these price levels will not be seeing any sustained downturn in the foreseeable future.

Eastman Announces ASPIRA One Polymer, A Recyclable Extrusion Blow Molded Resin for Beverage Packaging

As the leader of innovative specialty copolyesters, particularly extrusion blow molding (EBM) resins, Eastman Chemical Company announces the addition of Aspira One polymer to its portfolio of resins. Carrying resin identification code 1 (RIC 1), Aspira One is tailored specifically for EBM processes and packaging applications such as clear handleware and large-size bottles. As a new polyethylene terephthalate (PET) polymer, it provides an optimal balance of recyclability, product performance, production efficiency and aesthetics versus alternative polyester resins available to the EBM market.
