Environmentally friendly natural fibre to replace chipboard, UPM ForMi biocomposite for kitchen fitting frames

Biocomposite UPM ForMi, produced by UPM, will soon replace chipboard as the main raw material used in Finnish kitchen fitting frames. Kitchen fitting manufacturer Puustelli Group Oy has developed, in cooperation with UPM, kitchen fitting frame components that increase the utilisation of renewable natural fibre and reduce the manufacturing carbon footprint by 35-45%.

Compostability of Waxed-Paper Packaging: the Proof

A recent in-depth study commissioned by EuroWaxPack, the European Association of Wax Paper Packaging Materials and performed by the independent laboratory OWS (Organic Waste Systems) in Ghent (Belgium), shows that a typical waxed paper packaging material is industrially compostable according to the strict tests of EN 13432 ‘Requirements for packaging recoverable through composting and biodegradation’. For this study EuroWaxPack selected a widely-used twisting/folding paper coated with a formulated paraffin wax.

INX and The Oldham Group expand distributor agreement

INX International Ink Co. and The Oldham Group recently agreed to expand their distributor partnership to include UV, traditional offset and UV flexo and water flexographic inks. The relationship between the two Illinois-based companies dates back to 2008 when The Oldham Group began offering INX heatset, UV and conventional offset products primarily under a private label agreement.
