Hydrolube fiber lubricants from Michelman are a family of water based emulsions used in fiber sizing formulations to lubricate and protect fiberglass, carbon fiber, natural and specialty fibers during forming, processing and post-processing. Each available grade lubricates the fibers, protecting them from abrasion from neighboring fibers, and in some cases shields the fibers from hydrolytic attack.
Metso and CMPC Celulose Riograndense S.A. (CMPC) have finalized the agreement, according to which Metso will supply the key technology to CMPC’s Guaíba II pulp line in Brazil. The total value of the project is around EUR 800-900 million, of which around EUR 400 million consists of Metso’s own equipment and systems.
The VTM 1 from the Voith tissue machines family has impressed its first customers. The machine is already successfully running with a Brazilian tissue producer. In Indonesia a customer will start the operation of the VTM 1 at the end of 2013. These tissue machines have a particularly compact design and offer high operating speeds and easy operation.
Stora Enso Building and Living is further developing its Building Solutions business with the delivery of its first CLT (cross-laminated timber) shipment from Europe to Australia. The Docklands Library and Community Centre in Melbourne, built by Lend Lease, one of the world’s leading property and infrastructure providers, will be the first public building in Australia to use CLT as a construction material.
ORAFOL Americas Inc. celebrated the grand opening of its recently completed 52,000 square foot addition in Avon, CT on May 22, 2013, as phase 1 of the ORAFOL Americas Inc. reflective material expansion program. It is expected that the Avon facility will undergo additional expansions of 125,000 square feet between now and 2020.
