KapStone Completes Acquisition of Longview Fibre Paper and Packaging, Inc.

KapStone Paper and Packaging Corporation (NYSE: KS) today announced that it has completed the stock purchase of Longview Fibre Paper and Packaging, Inc. (“Longview”). Longview, headquartered in Longview, WA, is a leading manufacturer of high quality containerboard, lightweight high performance multiwall paper, specialty Kraft papers, and corrugated products. Longview employs about 1,800 people.

Successful Start-Up of the Greenpac Containerboard Mill

UPM sells Pestovo sawmill in Russia to Lesnaya Innovacionnaya Kompanya LLC

UPM has today signed an agreement on the sale of Pestovo sawmill real estate and machinery with Lesnaya Innovacionnaya Kompanya (LIK) LLC. The parties have agreed not to disclose the sales price. UPM announced the search for a buyer for the Pestovo sawmill on 10 January 2013.

Momentive Performance Materials Inc. Announces Ratified Agreement with the IUE-CWA

Momentive Performance Materials Inc. (“Momentive Performance Materials” or the “Company”) today announced that IUE-CWA-represented employees at its sites in Waterford, N.Y., and Willoughby, Ohio, voted this week to ratify the tentative agreement on a new three-year national contract. Three local unions were involved in the contract negotiations: Local 81359 and Local 81380 in Waterford, and Local 84707 in Willoughby. Contract negotiations began on June 3, 2013 in Philadelphia and continued until an agreement was developed and ultimately ratified by the union membership.
