Clariant closes sale of Textile Chemicals, Paper Specialties and Emulsions businesses

Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, today announced the closing of the sale of its Textile Chemicals, Paper Specialties and Emulsions businesses to SK Capital. Starting 1 October 2013, the three former Clariant businesses are now operating under the name Archroma.

Neschen disposes of US business

The Neschen Group disposed of the main assets of its US subsidiary to a US buyer on 01.10.2013. This includes the production plants in Elkridge and Wisconsin, the SEAL brand name and the media and laminator business in the USA.

Norske Skog Walsum to curtail magazine production

Due to excess capacity in the coated mechanical market, Norske Skog Walsum will from the second half of December temporarily idle paper machine (PM) 4. The machine has an annual capacity of 225 000 tons. Walsum’s second paper machine, PM 10, will continue to produce LWC (Light Weighted Coated) magazine paper at an annual capacity of 200 000 tons.
