New UPM Raflatac special products coating line fully operational in Europe

UPM Raflatac’s new special products coating line at the Tampere factory in Finland is now fully operational and delivering high-quality self-adhesive label materials to label converters. The design of the new coating line is based on UPM Raflatac’s proprietary technology with special emphasis on versatility in terms of production technologies and cleanliness in production.

MetalFX Helps Heidelberg Brazil Look Brilliant

The MetalFX metallic color system was used by Heidelberg Brazil at their recent open house to showcase the printing capabilities of their newest press, the Speedmaster XL 105. At the open house, Heidelberg printed and die cut a folding carton incorporating the MetalFX process.

Stora Enso has concluded co-determination negotiation

Stora Enso has concluded the co-determination negotiations at Summa, Kemijärvi and Anjala Mills, and the Helsinki Headquarters. The reasons for the capacity and resource cuts announced on 25 October 2007 have unfortunately not changed – excess capacity in standard and improved newsprint and uncoated magazine paper, and dramatic cost increases, especially for imported wood. Stora Enso must therefore take action to safeguard its cost and competitive position, and thereby the future of the Group.
