Metso to supply paper making line to Propapier, Germany

Metso Paper will supply a paper making line to the greenfield mill of Propapier GmbH & Co. KG in Germany. The new line, producing up to 650,000 tonnes of liner and fluting grades of 70-130 g/m2 annually, will be located in Eisenhüttenstadt, near the Polish border, and will come on stream in late 2009.

A Baldwin Litho Spray Maxima system has helped German newspaper Göttinger Tageblatt overcome problems of fan-out, which have occurred since the printer has been handling a much wider variety of newsprint on its 11-year old KBA Colora.

Fujifilm announces price increase for conventional plates and film

Fujifilm today announces that it is to increase the price of conventional plates, film and related chemicals in 2008, across Europe and Africa. In the UK, this increase of between 10 – 20% will be implemented in March.
