Stora Ensos joint venture Veracel in Brazil received Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification for its tree plantations on 13 March 2008. An FSC chain-of-custody certificate was simultaneously granted to the mill. Both certificates are valid for five years.

Fujifilm today announces that digital and colour litho printer, Sprinters London Limited, has switched to Fujifilm Brillia HD PRO-T plates. Sprinters is based in Brentford in West London and handles work for companies including Kew Gardens, Innocent Drinks and several Government agencies.
Stora Enso has published today its CO2 reduction target of 20% by 2020 in its Annual Report for 2007. The target covers Stora Ensos direct CO2 emissions from production as well as indirect emissions from purchased electricity and heat. The baseline year for the target is 2006.
The corporate assembly in Norske Skog has today authorised the board to shut down a total newsprint production capacity of 450,000 tonnes.
