UPM Raflatac celebrates the opening of its new North American pressure sensitive labelstock manufacturing facility in Dixon, Illinois, approximately 100 miles west of Chicago. The new USD 100 million (EUR 70 million) facility will offer UPM Raflatac’s full product range of paper and film label products and features the company’s latest proprietary technical solutions in both the coating and finishing areas.

USAs First Baldwin Tower Clean Offers Fast Return On Investment At Lancaster County Weeklies
Lancaster County Weeklies in Pennsylvania has added around 15 hours of productivity each week to its MDGM 440 newspaper press, following the commissioning in January of the USAs first Baldwin Tower Clean automatic blanket cleaning system. The inexpensive Baldwin Tower Clean system has reduced the three-hour manual wash previously required on the single-width, five-tower press to around two minutes.

Tower Clean Successes For Baldwin With Orders From Around The Globe
Baldwin Technology has had a spate of successes for its Tower Clean automatic blanket cleaning system, which has been designed to improve productivity and operator working conditions on single-width presses. Recent installations include printing plants in Berlin and Hong Kong, while new orders have been received from Norwegian newspaper Agderposten and Swedish newspaper Norra Vasterbotten.
