Kurz expands its environmental protection

The stamping foil manufacturer Kurz is strengthening its commitment to ecofriendly manufacturing and processing of stamping foils. During recent years, Kurz installed ultra-modern production facilities in the manufacturing plants in Sulzbach-Rosenberg (Bavaria) and Malaysia thereby enabling the energy usage per finished square meter of foil to be reduced by 23 percent.

New allrounder hot stamping foils

According to the stamping foil manufacturer Kurz, processors of hot stamping foils have a new favorite: Luxor/Alufin LX, an especially versatile hot stamping foil developed in late 2007. The new product is described as the “all around winner of stamping foils” and is suitable for a diverse range of surfaces in the graphics industry and all machine systems.

Drupa 2008: Sappi’s Royal range gets even greener

Building on the increasing demand for its Royal Web Recycled coated heatset web offset papers, Sappi has expanded its recycled product range with the official launch of Royal Web Recycled Gloss at Drupa. The new gloss paper compliments Sappi’s Royal Web Recycled Silk grade, which was successfully launched in the UK market, the most demanding for environmentally certified papers, at the end of 2007.

WETFLEX BREAKS LANDMARK 500M PRINTING TARGET

Sun Chemical and Comexi Group are celebrating after crashing through a landmark target of 500metres per minute with WetFlex printing. This breakthrough proprietary technology, which has been developed in a partnership between Sun Chemical, Energy Sciences Inc (ESI) and Comexi, is being shown in public for the first time at drupa.

Tempo in new print world record!

Sappi’s revolutionary, quick drying Tempo paper has been a major contributor to the successful world record attempt by Stuttgart-based printer Rösler Druck to print at least 103 different 1,000-sheet print jobs on a single offset press within a 24 hour period. The company set the new world record on Tuesday 27 May on a six-colour manroland ROLAND 700 DirectDrive press, achieving an amazing 169 plate changes!
