Metso to supply pulping technology for Aracruz in Brazil for EUR 400 million

Metso will supply the main technology for Aracruz’s new 1.5-million-tons/yr bleached hardwood kraft (BHK) pulp line, to be built at their Guaíba mill in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.

Metso has completed the acquisition of GE Energy’s Lachine Main Plant, a heavy fabrication and machining facility located near Montreal, province of Quebec, Canada. The ownership of the company was transferred to Metso on August 15, 2008.

Rising Costs Prompt Sun Chemical Europe Price Increases in Commercial, Packaging and Industrial Markets

Sun Chemical is increasing prices for the Commercial, Packaging and Industrial markets by between 5% and 15% because of significant increases in raw material, energy and transportation costs. The increases cover Europe, Africa and the Middle East and will be implemented from September 1.
