3M Introduces New 2 mm Board-to-Board Stacking Connectors and Box Headers

Printed circuit board manufacturers and electronics manufacturing services companies now have a lower cost option for small form factor board-to-board connectors and box headers. 3M Electronic Solutions Division recently introduced the Board-to-Board Stacking Connectors and Box Headers, Series 95X for high-volume applications.

Hexion Specialty Chemicals To Raise Prices For Powder Polyester Resins in Europe, the Middle East and Africa

Due to ongoing increases in energy, transportation and feedstock costs, Hexion Specialty Chemicals announced today that it will increase the prices for its Albester and Albemast powder polyester resins in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Effective September 15, 2008, or as contracts allow, prices will increase by 8 to 10 euro cts/ kg, depending on the product line.

During recent years the business has experienced financial losses, and is now in a demanding situation both regarding its cost position and market conditions. The outlook for the company indicates continued losses, and therefore a process to close the mill in December of this year has been initiated.
