Metso Paper to start employee negotiations at its Järvenpää and Jyväskylä units in Finland
Metso Paper is starting up co-determination negotiations concerning its personnel at its Jyväskylä and Järvenpää units in Finland. An expected reduction in work volumes has lead to the need for adjusting capacity utilization and resources. The negotiations do not concern the personnel of Metso Foundries Jyväskylä Oy.

Igepa Belux to distribute SYNAPS, Agfa’s synthetic paper, in Belgium and Luxemburg
Agfa-Gevaert announced that Igepa Belux (Belgium) will distribute Synaps, Agfa’s high-quality synthetic paper, in the Belgian and Luxemburg markets. Earlier this year, Synaps was launched with great success at the graphic tradeshow drupa in Düsseldorf, Germany. Many professional tradeshow visitors embraced the new products with great enthusiasm.

International Paper Announces Paper Machine Shutdown
Today, International Paper (NYSE:IP) announced plans to shut down its No. 2 paper machine at the Albany Mill in Oregon as of Oct. 5, for a minimum of three months. This machine produces approximately 250,000 tons annually of containerboard, used to make corrugated packaging. Approximately 40 people’s jobs will be impacted by the shutdown.
