Dow Epoxy and Shanghai Tian Yuan Huasheng Sign Long Term Raw Materials Supply Agreements for Two Proposed Plants in Shanghai

Dow Epoxy, a business unit of The Dow Chemical Company (“Dow”), has signed long term raw materials supply agreements with Shanghai Tian Yuan Huasheng Chemical Co., Ltd. (TYHSC) for its planned 100,000 MTPA liquid epoxy resin (LER) plant in 2010 and 150,000 MTPA glycerine-to-epichlorohydrin (GTE) plant in 2011 at Shanghai Chemical Industry Park (SCIP).

Metso supplies greenfield fiber preparation line to Siempelkamp for Ukraine

Metso will supply a new fiber preparation line to Siempelkamp Group for installation at Art Progress MDF (medium density fiberboard) plant in Ukraine. Start-up is scheduled for January 2010. The value of the order is below EUR 10 million and it is included in Metso Paper´s Q3 orders received.

New Crastin PBT Cuts Costs, Cycle Time

Molders now can cut cycle time for polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) parts up to 30 percent with new super-fast (SF) grades of DuPont Crastin PBT thermoplastic polyester. Designated Crastin SF, the new resins come in non-reinforced form and in reinforced versions with 15 or 30 percent glass fiber.
